Natural Remedies For Cough And Runny Nose


Cough is a kind of illness in which the person coughs repeatedly due to which there is also sometimes pain in chest and throat. Running nose is a mild and common illness which makes you sneeze a lot and gives you a sore throat and cough. A runny nose may not hurt, but it is certainly annoying. Salt Water
The simplest way is to clear out mucous that cause a runny nose is to wash the nostrils with saltwater solution. For this, you need to dissolve a tablespoon of ordinary salt in eight ounces of warm water. After that, you take some water into a dropper and drop the solution into your nose. You should inhale very softly to draw the water and puff your nose to clear out any excess water and nasal discharge. 

Spicy Food
Spicy foods can work as a home remedy for a runny nose and Cough. Hot foods clear up nasal congestion and prove to be of great help in curing cough and runny nose. It increases nasal discharge by helping the body in flushing out the blockage and toxins. Spicy foods, particularly hot peppers and ginger, help increase breathing circulation. 

Mustard Oil

You can combine two drops of eucalyptus oil with one teaspoon of sunflower or olive oil and massage the mixture into your chest. It gives a lot of relief from cough and runny nose. 

Astragalus 
Astragalus is a traditional Chinese medicine and which is used for treating cold and runny nose. The plant has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects. The root of this plant can be consumed in tea form. You can add 3 to 6 g of dried root to 12 oz of boiling water and take the mixture three times a day for getting relief from cough as well as runny nose.
