Remedies for Oily Skin

Many people face problems that have oily skin as it brings with it many other skin diseases such as acne, blemishes and zits. And treatment of oily skin first can only bring end to these diseases. Oily skin can also be sometimes caused because of hereditary or hygienic reasons but the cure always lie in the basic things which we ignore in our daily life.

It's a myth that washing with cold water helps you get rid of oily skin.

Rather than that we should encourage the use of warm water with a soap free face wash. Some oil free soaps such as Clearasil or Neutrogena can also be used. A little hot water works as a solvent which helps in the removal of excess oil as well as dirt accumulated on the skin due to the stickiness.

A person suffering from oily skin should always try to use oil free skin products especially which are applied on the face.

It is always good to prefer powder based products as it dries up the excess oil and treat the pores at the same time. Even moisturizers should be carefully chosen and oil content in them should be checked.

It's noticed and also scientifically proved that a stressed and anxious body secretes more oil.

We can not stop our works but in order to reduce the stress caused due to that, we can try meditation for 15 to 30 minutes which opens the pores of the skin as well as relieves us from our over stressed life. A bit of exercise can also be tried before breakfast as the sweat released helps in cleaning the pores.

Mud packs always help to reduce the oiliness of the skin.

For better results, a spoon of lemon juice can be added which will not only help in reducing the oiliness but also make the skin look fairer with a recognizable glow. Wash the face as soon as the layer of the mud dries up completely; don't leave it for a long time as it may cause excessive dryness which can cause irritation.
